Vitamin B9. A meta-analysis of three randomized controlled trials evaluated the association between vitamin B9 and depression in 247 depressed patients. The degree and extent of depression during the 10-week studies was assessed using the Hamilton Depression Scale. The results confirmed that sufficient dietary intake of vitamin B9 significantly reduced the symptoms of depression as measured by the Hamilton Depression Scale.
